Massive Lake Trout

Experience Canada’s
True North
Welcome to Cheemo Lodge
Cheemo Lodge sits on three exceptional lakes — Tazin, Tsawlor, and Thluicho — each offering a distinct and unforgettable fishing experience. Together, they create one of the most diverse and productive trophy fishing destinations in Canada.
From world-renowned lake trout waters to aggressive northern pike that thrive in lightly pressured systems, our lakes offer both size and numbers. Whether you’re jigging deep, casting shorelines, or trolling expansive basins, the fishing here adapts to how you like to fish — not the other way around.
Don’t just catch size. Catch numbers.

Remote
Yet Remarkably Accessible
Despite its remote northern setting, getting to Cheemo Lodge is remarkably straightforward. Fort McMurray is served by multiple commercial flights daily, making it accessible from most major cities with one connection or less.
Once in Fort McMurray, guests board a scenic floatplane for the final leg of the journey — a flight that doubles as a sightseeing tour over Lake Athabasca, the Athabasca Sand Dunes, and into the Canadian Shield.
From there, each day unfolds naturally. Hot breakfast and fresh coffee in the morning. Long hours on the water under northern skies where the sun barely sets. Shore lunches, wildlife encounters, and endless room to explore — followed by cold drinks, a hot supper, and stories shared late into the evening.
Built by Family, Run with Care
Cheemo Lodge is family-owned and operated, built on experience, care, and a deep respect for the north. From the moment you arrive, you’ll notice the difference — not just in the fishing, but in how the lodge is run.
Classic log construction, clean and comfortable guest rooms, and welcoming shared spaces create a place that feels authentic. Meals are elevated home-cooked, with fresh baking, hearty breakfasts, memorable shore lunches, and dinners that bring everyone together at the end of the day.
It’s a lodge where details matter, people matter, and guests are treated like friends.
