Your Trip, Your Way, No Compromises

Every trip to Cheemo Lodge is shaped around the people fishing it. Guided or unguided, shore lunch or packed lunch, long days on the water or a relaxed afternoon that ends at the bar—we tailor each stay to match how you want to fish and unwind. There’s no single way to do Cheemo, but there is a rhythm to the days. Here’s what a not-so-typical, typical day often looks like.

Typical Morning

Mornings start at your pace. A hot breakfast is served at 7:15, with fresh coffee ready early and grab-and-go options available for those easing into the day—or heading out ahead of schedule. Guided fishing begins around 8:00 a.m., though there’s no whistle to chase. When you’re ready, the dock and your guide are waiting.

A Day on the Lake

Once on the water, the focus is simple—fish hard and enjoy where you are. Between steady action and the chance of spotting wildlife along the shoreline or soaring overhead, the day tends to move quickly. Depending on your preference, you’ll break for a classic shore lunch or stay out longer with a thoughtfully packed meal.

Guided boats return to the dock around 5:00 p.m., lining up nicely with happy hour and a hot supper back at the lodge. For many, that last stretch of the afternoon is when the lake settles and the best moments happen.

Supper

Hot supper is served at 6:30 p.m., bringing everyone back together after a full day outside. If you’d rather stay on the water, just let us know—we’ll set you up with a packed supper or have a plate waiting when you return. There’s flexibility built into every evening, and no one’s rushing you off the lake.

Evening

As the evening settles in, the pace stays relaxed—and depending on the time of year, the sun barely sets at all. Extended daylight keeps the lake alive well into the night, giving guests the freedom to fish late or simply enjoy being outside a little longer.

Night guiding is available at the guide’s discretion and rate, but all guests are welcome to take a boat out on their own, with no extra fuel or hourly charges. Others gather at the bar for a few drinks, a game or two, and good music in the background. Stories get better, tomorrow’s plans take shape, and the day winds down naturally—no rush, no curfew.
